‘In 1983, a team of deeply pious scientists conducted a radical experiment in an undisclosed facility. The scientists had theorized that a human without access to any senses or ways to perceive stimuli would be able to perceive the presence of God. They believed that the five senses clouded our awareness of eternity, and without them, a human could actually establish contact with God by thought. An elderly man who claimed to have “nothing left to live for” was the only test subject to volunteer. To purge him of all his senses, the scientists performed a complex operation in which every sensory nerve connection to the brain was surgically severed. Although the test subject retained full muscular function, he could not see, hear, taste, smell, or feel. With no possible way to communicate with or even sense the outside world, he was alone with his thoughts.
Scientists monitored him as he spoke aloud about his state of mind in jumbled, slurred sentences that he couldn’t even hear. After four days, the man claimed to be hearing hushed, unintelligible voices in his head. Assuming it was an onset of psychosis, the scientists paid little attention to the man’s concerns.
Two days later, the man cried that he could hear his dead wife speaking with him, and even more, he could communicate back. The scientists were intrigued, but were not convinced until the subject started naming dead relatives of the scientists. He repeated personal information to the scientists that only their dead spouses and parents would have known. At this point, a sizable portion of scientists left the study.

After a week of conversing with the deceased through his thoughts, the subject became distressed, saying the voices were overwhelming. In every waking moment, his consciousness was bombarded by hundreds of voices that refused to leave him alone. He frequently threw himself against the wall, trying to elicit a pain response. He begged the scientists for sedatives, so he could escape the voices by sleeping. This tactic worked for three days, until he started having severe night terrors. The subject repeatedly said that he could see and hear the deceased in his dreams.

Only a day later, the subject began to scream and claw at his non-functional eyes, hoping to sense something in the physical world. The hysterical subject now said the voices of the dead were deafening and hostile, speaking of hell and the end of the world. At one point, he yelled “No heaven, no forgiveness” for five hours straight. He continually begged to be killed, but the scientists were convinced that he was close to establishing contact with God.

After another day, the subject could no longer form coherent sentences. Seemingly mad, he started to bite off chunks of flesh from his arm. The scientists rushed into the test chamber and restrained him to a table so he could not kill himself. After a few hours of being tied down, the subject halted his struggling and screaming. He stared blankly at the ceiling as teardrops silently streaked across his face. For two weeks, the subject had to be manually rehydrated due to the constant crying. Eventually, he turned his head and, despite his blindness, made focused eye contact with a scientist for the first time in the study. He whispered “I have spoken with God, and he has abandoned us” and his vital signs stopped. There was no apparent cause of death.’

4chan founder Christopher “moot” Poole recently deleted two boards from his image board website 4chan. /r9k/ and /new/, which are the relationships and news boards respectively, were unceremoniously deleted on 1/18/11. The /new/ board, which is pejoratively referred to as /stormfront/ due to its often racist subject matter, was given warnings by moot to clean up and only post news-related content, but the board remained very strongly racism-oriented.

The reason for delete /r9k/ is less clear, but it is theorized he wanted to purge the board of such a thing to mainstream the site, and let more “normal” users in. Poole recently received $650,000 in startup money for his social image site, canv.as, which precious little is known about, and it is rumored that this has caused him to clamp down on questionable content on his website.

I’ve found that Alchemy and Enchanting are a killer combo, and the gold making power and utility they provide for my character outweighs the costs, especially comparitive to other professions.

This communications blackout seems relatively small, amongst a few counties in the plains. Those affected are at least the counties of San Saba, Llano, Mason, and McCulloch county. Will update as info comes.

And Conservatives, always playing into caricatures of themselves, are the ones who seem to be the most keen on this misportrayal of Robin Hood.

There is a fundamental difference between wealth derived from voluntary transaction and wealth derived from coercion and violently depriving individuals of their labor. In fact, the two things are diametrically opposed, the two primal forces of politics that in one manifestation or another try to get ahead of each other. Conservatives, supposedly the ones interested in protecting individual rights and civil society, are a far cry from that.

The “right wing” as our stupid political language calls it, includes things that just don’t belong together. Karl Marx was not a friend of the right wing in any of its definitions, but it was Mr. Marx who pointed out that aristocracy and capitalism were irreconcilably different. Capitalism implies a voluntary civil society, aristocracy implies an involuntary political society.

As holding convictions becomes increasingly unfashionable and the USSR and friends fade more and more into sepia-toned memory, more the ultra-left left seems to have cut its losses. We have two spinoffs of it, which are de facto the same ideology. They are…

Social democracy amplified, think Utopian socialism plus Brave New World, updated to 21st century consumerist tastes. Popular amongst college kids.

Then we have Marxist Humanist. This is New-Age philosophy with the trappings of Marxism, with all of its iconic terminology and eschatology, but it is strictly revisionist. Popular amongst old leftists.

Why is this? Well, modern consumerist society does not allow much room for any convictions, at least not ones that claim they are right. Marxism is firm in its firm assertion that it alone is right, and it alone holds the keys to history. This is why Marxism is referred to as a secular religion. While Christianity holds that the end of time when the final struggle between Good and Evil culminates at Judgement Day, Marxism’s asserts that the end of history will come when the final struggle between classes culminates in a worldwide revolution, making Marxism the permanent ideology for the rest of time. And this means that they will use violence as a legitimate means to this end. This is why the fashionable left will no longer give Marxism it’s stamp of approval. Its ethics are too focused on it’s own destiny rather than things that soothe the Bourgeoisie’s psychological well being, like laws about meat eating and donations to the UNCF. And absolute morality has no place in our Brave New World.
